The Way We Talk
Did you guys see this article in the New York Times?
It talks about how young women are creating and setting linguistic trends by their speech patterns, including up talking and vocal fry... or as I think of it "The Way All Women in LA Talk" (myself not excluded) and/or "The Way Terrible Women Talk."

1908 Leap Year Cartoon
This cartoon is from 1908.
This guy is freaking out because he's afraid his (totally hot) girlfriend is going to propose to him on February 29.
Slate has a fun/strange/disturbing retrospective of old time-y Leap Year cartoons here aptly titled "Crazy Old Postcards Showing Women Proposing to Men on Leap Year."
(Note: they're calling it Leap Year too... isn't that what we all used to call it, until people started saying "Leap Day" this year??)
